Kitchen Organization....Day 7 and Day 12...Spice Cabinet

This weekend's challenge is the kitchen pantry. I have lots of storage in my kitchen but it lacks a nice big pantry.

I have organized my kitchen into stations/centers for years.

Pantry

(Canned foods, cereals, breads, pasta, etc.)

I purchased these great can rotators from Shelf Reliance and love them. I need to get a couple more!


Snacks

I like to store the popcorn containers above the popcorn.

Small IKEA containers are used for crackers, pretzels, granola bars, etc.

Lunch
Kids lunch menu is hung on the cupboard door for kids. Lunch bags,water bottles and small hand sanitizers for lunch boxes are stored in here. In the fridge (sorry forgot to take a picture) I have a drawer for all lunch food.

Baking
When Shelley featured her pantry awhile back I just had to have her labels. I LOVE THEM!
I made small labels for my little spice jars and other jars that hold baking soda, baking powder, cocoa and salt.

Have you've ever used powdered eggs? If not I recommend them..I use them all the time for baking!

Cooking
All my cooking needs are right here. I made the labels for the spices and have my favorite menu planner at arms reach. I like to store my knifes up and away from the kids and this made the most sense to me since my cutting boards are in the cupboard below.

This is a little inventory sheet I made for my food storage..(that's a whole other closet). When I open a can from my storage closet and bring it in the kitchen to use I just cross it off so that I know how many I've used and need to replace. You can learn about food storage here.






It's nothing pretty but it works for our family and everyone knows where things go and that makes mom happy!

If I had a pantry it would definitely look something like these...(totally drooling over these!)
