Tackling A Closet...Day 8

I am a little late posting today...I took a fun trip to IKEA today and finished up my purchases for my master bedroom! I am excited to show you real soon! Hopefully tomorrow's challenge won't take up my afternoon...I've got plans to make curtains for my little "hotel" suite. It's turning out great!

Okay..so on to today's challenge.

TACKLING A CLOSET!

I've decided to tackle the closet under the stairs...the dark gloomy long closet. I guess the builder intended it to be a coat closet but we don't use it for that. In our home we use this for our coats:

I LOVE IT.

Anywho...onto the challenge....The closet I chose is the most difficult closet to organize because it houses so many different types of things and it is the only storage closet in my home.

I've got three different categories/stations going on in there and keeping them organized..well cutely organized is difficult for me. I'd love suggestions.

Stations/Centers

1. kids crafts, school supplies, puzzles, etc.

2. Extra household supplies, garbage bags, baggies, paper products, vacuum and broom

3. Food storage

I've tried my best to keep in orderly but with so many things going on in here at times it becomes chaos. Ultimately I would like it to just be for food storage and have a cabinet for all of the school supplies, extra household supplies could go into the garage after some reorganization there....another project for another day!

Here is the before shot:

And the AFTER:

Let's take a look around shall we......

As you enter the closet on the left hand side is all of the kids stuff...
Reading Aids

Extra school supplies

workbooks, coloring books, extra notebooks for school, etc.
Flash cards
Markers and Paints
colored pencils, crayons, playdoh
pencils, pens, highlighters, glue, scissors, and tape
puzzles

Then on to the Household storage:

Am I boring you yet?
The FOOD STORAGE

Believe it or not this is my stash of Froot Loops...I was deprived as a child.
My kids don't like it so it's all mine! ahahaha!
Extra storage for canned goods...I need to stock up!
These great cardboard can organizers are from canorganizer.com.
Extra goodies....my delicious pickles!

And the rest of the loot!

HI Natalie ~ I'm so excited that you included your hallway in these photos!! I was just looking at your chore chart and I can't seem to get the printable chore chart to work, is there any way you could email it to me?

I love that you have all the extras for school supplies, I need to do something like this too.

My hubby has a stash of Frosted Flakes that is all his!!

Love your blog!!
Thanks

I love the chore chart! what a great space to have. I struggle with the same thing. I presently have crafts in one of our coat closets but with the Christmas gifts of more crafts I need a bigger space. Hoping to get to that at some point.
